Imperial Unibots Founder
I started 3 national competition teams at Imperial, managing over 50 engineers. My main team won its first entries in Edinburgh and Cambridge. I worked on all aspects from mechanical design in CAD and planning our electronics to physical manufacture and PCB design.
Furthermore, I programmed the entire autonomity and computer vision system to track it's global position, obstacles and target balls in order to most effectively collect and deposit them.
Modular Robot
My A Level DT Coursework started off as a simple plant monitoring and watering system but I took this further by implementing advanced mechatronics to create a modular robot capable of navigating complex outdoor environments and performing various tasks related to plant care. It's fully modular with a swappable electronic cartridge system on the back to add new functionality.
UKROC Team Lead
Led a small team of 4 to design and build a rocket for a UK Rocketry Competition. Ran CFD simulations and implemented a modular, repeatable system to allow for quick iteration and testing of different strategies. Created a custom avionics board to log flight data and a swappable payload cartridge to protect our egg as securely as possible.
3-DOF CNC Whiteboard
An E-ink display alternative that evolved into a large scale whiteboard capable of precise drawing using threaded rods and 3D printed components.

ICRS Card Scanner
Upcycled and programmed a custom ID card scanner for the Imperial College Robotics Society (ICRS) out of an old Skylanders portal of power. The system reads student ID cards and authenticates users in order to print on our 3D printers using a custom Ocra Slicer build. The whole system is animated for extra cool points.

Custom Laptop Modification
I designed and built a custom cooling modification that has boosted CPU performance by 42.5% from its factory stock condition while maintaining the laptop's slim 11.2mm profile and portability.
Initially, I repasted the Intel i5-1240P’s cooler with high performance thermal paste and added thermal pads between the copper heat pipes and laptop’s base to use the base to dissipate heat more effectively than the built-in fan. This resulted in a 20% performance boost, but the plastic composite of the base struggled to conduct the heat efficiently.
I used Fusion 360 to plan and laser-engrave the sections for removal from the bottom of my laptop before cutting them. These cut-outs corresponded with high-temperature components. To keep my laptop portable and prevent damage to components when undocked, I replaced the removed plastic with .5mm of copper due to its high thermal conductivity and used thermal pads to bridge the gap and conduct heat to the surface of the base. Even without any help from external cooling methods, there was a 28% improvement just from the heat dissipating into the surrounding environment.
In order to push it to its limits I constructed a laptop stand to hold two 140mm desktop PC fans at an angle, wired directly to a 12V power supply. With this addition, I achieved a 39% performance increase and after adjusting the CPU's power limits to prevent it from generating unmanageable heat, I finally reached a sustained 42.5% performance improvement over the stock configuration.
Despite the significant improvement, there is still potential for more. I plan to take it further and eliminate any further thermal limitation by adding more heatsinks inside the limited interior space and upgrade the inbuilt fan.
